Tonneau
The Tonneau knife, also known as the canot. In France’s centre region, farm workers were commonly hired at trade fairs during the buying and selling of livestock. The farmer gifted this knife to the workers they hired – seen as a guarantee and a pledge of the future good working relationship between the farm worker and their boss. This multi-bladed knife could be used for a variety of purposes. At the cutting edge of technology, it was probably the ancestor of the multi-function knives we know today!
