Laguiole
Who doesn’t know the history of this knife? The Laguiole originated in the late 19 th century, in the town of Laguiole. Little by little, as demand for the knife grew, cutlers in Thiers began to produce the knife. Production continued uneventfully with the knife seen as a tool favoured by the rural community. In 1980, the Laguiole was given a second lease of life when the Aveyron decided to focus on tradition as leverage for development, thus driving the media coverage that would eventually make the Laguiole a household name. To date, in the entire history of regional knife production, no other knife has achieved such widespread renown. Coutellerie Au Sabot has chosen several different versions of this legendary knife.
